Environment Design

 Technological forecasting is based on scientific research and technological developments, which have been taking place continuously since the dawn of human history. The conclusions of scientific studies and innovations in the world of technology, are published in the scientific and technological literature, and reach interested parties within minutes around the world - at an ever-increasing rate. The period of time between a scientific publication or a technological innovation and its use is getting shorter and shorter thanks to the communication and the improved means of research, development, production, and marketing. This is the initial manifestation of the scientific/technological revolution and we are at the very beginning of it. This is the atmosphere that envelops the characters in the plots of our story.

Inspired by the guide to the future (the technological revolutions that will change our lives) edited by Dr. Roi Cezana, we paint, together, the technological, human, social and spiritual environment we are expected to meet in the critical and exciting years between 2029 and 2036 through prose. Doesn't it fascinate you to know what our senses will pick up at that time and whether the story we will write, together, can affect that time?

According to Dr. Cezana, we are at the beginning of the personal production revolution3D printing ** will allow anyone to produce components for household equipment and the vehicles they own. Using a simple and cheap home printer we can, with relative ease, produce weapons, food and even medicines and biological organs to replace them in the human body.

As a result, the activity of large industrial plants will be reduced and many workers will be thrown out of the labor market. Under these circumstances, the activity of transporting products from the production centers to the shopping centers will decrease, with all that implies. The activity that will develop in the near future will be expressed in the increasing purchase of computer production programs (instead of purchasing physical products). The production programs are already adapted to home printers.

It is possible, already today, to purchase online, for free or at ridiculous prices, a plan for making a broken chair, jewelry for your partner or toys for children. The production plans are absorbed by the printers and in a short time the products can be printed and used immediately. The number of 3D printing program entrepreneurs, at the time of writing these lines, is gaining tremendous momentum and the demand for design quality control is increasing accordingly. The number of projects carried out in houses is increasing rapidly. A decade ago, Dr. Cezana estimated that next to every printer there would be a recycling device that would be able to finely grind the unnecessary accessories, separate the various materials and extract from them raw materials for the printers. Such equipment is already available for purchase.

The field of transportation is also undergoing an accelerated metamorphosis. Autonomous vehicle technology is already in use today. Let's ignore, for a moment, fantasies (delusions?) like flying cars ** ** whose technological component is indeed applicable but the difficulties of regulation hinder their use. We will also ignore the autonomous ships and submarines which are not relevant, at this stage, but only for the plot being woven. We will skip the drones ** we know from Iron Swords War (Israel, October 2023)...

I chose to use my imagination but not to ignore the expected technological reality tomorrow. We will try to imagine, for example, the effect of autonomous public transportation in the big cities, which should solve the problem of traffic congestion, the problem of parking ** and mobility.

The outstanding technological details that will decorate the urban landscape between 2029 and 2036 are not necessarily special trains floating on a magnetic field but skateboards, sophisticated types of unicycles and small autonomous vehicles. Many car manufacturers continue to develop the next generations of fully autonomous vehicles. These days the first autonomous cars of Google, Mercedes, Toyota and Nissan can be seen on the roads. In 2034, apparently, driverless vehicles will be driving on Israel's roads. The number of traffic accidents will drop and with it, fuel consumption will also decrease significantly.

On the other hand, engaging in cyber warfare will be particularly attractive, in the period between 2029 and 2036, following the fear of a variety of dangers such as hostile takeover, for example, of the computers of autonomous cars. Imagine in your mind taking over a fleet of cars moving on Route 6 and directing them to collide with the US ambassador's car, like bombs loaded with fuel.
